Cressida Bell Paints
Artist Cressida Bell shows us how to create a beautiful hand-painted lamp that makes the perfect gift or addition to your own home
You will need:
- 1 paper lampshade (Cressida uses Albioncourt)
- Coloured inks for translucent colour and emulsion for opaque
- Paintbrush - one thicker, one thin
- Pencil
- Stensils (optional)
How to:

- Using a pencil draw your chosen __design onto your lampshade, use a stensil if you prefer
- Paint your lamp with your chosen colours
- Using the thin brush and black emulsion go over the lines you made with your pencil
- Leave to dry and your lampshade is complete!
Prefer more of a colouring book experience? Cressida sells lamp kits including a lampshade with patterns already drawn on, all you have to do is paint on the colours.
