4 Outstanding Offices in the U.S.
East and West Coast offices rise to the occasion.
1. Firm: TPG Architecture.
Project: WebMD Headquarters.
Site: New York.
Standout: A steel-bead curtain, lit by color-changing LEDs, shimmers like a waterfall in the double-height atrium at headquarters for an online wellness resource.
2. Firm: Rockwell Group.
Project: NeueHouse Hollywood.
Site: Los Angeles.
Standout: Orson Welles and Lucille Ball recorded in a 1938 studio building that’s now a coworking space where original elements are enhanced by custom touches.
3. Firm: Perkins + Will.
Project: Morningstar Credit Ratings Headquarters.
Site: New York.
Standout: An exaggerated “o” in the logo of this investment-research company is echoed by the drum-shape auditorium and cylindrical Verner Panton stools at headquarters.
4. Firm: Elkus Manfredi Architects.
Project: New Balance Headquarters.
Site: Boston.
Standout: Though the LEED Platinum status is invisible, the hilly public exercise area outside and a coffee bar’s neon tribute to local runners are there for all to see.
