San Francisco firm Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects has received the 2017 AIA Architecture Firm Award. The highest honor from the AIA, the award annually recognizes one practice that has produced notable architecture for at least a decade. Previous recipients include celebrated firms such as Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects (2013), Lake|Flato (2004), Gensler (2000), Perkins & Will (1999), Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (1994), and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (1962).

The firm’s founding principals—William Leddy, Marsha Maytum, and Richard Stacy, all FAIA—have been working together for over thirty years. In 2001, they restructured their practice to focus on projects that address sustainability, historic preservation, and social equity. Below, browse 4 projects emblematic of the firm’s mission.
