DIFFA's Dining by Design Celebrates 20 Years in NYC

David Rockwell and Cindy Allen, editor in chief of Interior Design and DIFFA chairman, at the magazine's 2017 table.

For the 20th installment of Dining by Design, designers and manufacturers pulled out all the stops. DIFFA’s annual fundraiser, part of the Architectural Digest __design Show, showcased 30 elaborate table displays. The imaginative dining environments, on view from March 16-19, served as the backdrop for a closing gala dinner on Monday night.

As always, Interior Design contributed to the fundraiser with its own table, a punchy setup developed around the theme “All You Need Is Love.” At the very end of the hall at Pier 92 in NYC, the booth beckons visitors with giant graphic lettering that spells out “love.” Past Interior Design tables were designed by the late architect Ali Tayar, and this year’s edition serves as a testament to him.

We’re happy to help get out the fight at this year’s @diffanational Dining by Design—an annual fundraiser that raises awareness and funds for those affected with HIV/AIDS. Our CNC cut Design Felt wallcovering makes a strong statement and we’re proud to have taken part along with the rest of the @knollinc brands and @genslernyc. #diningbydesign #dbd20 #doinggood

Over the next 3 days, we’ll be sharing our top three #trends from #DBD20. We loved seeing how designers brought the #outdoors in, like @rockwellgroup with @OvandoNY’s modern potting-shed filled with #cacti and vertical #gardens. @the.mine by ATGSTORES.com presented a delightfully #overgrown #Victorian #conservatory, while @toddbracher and the @humanscalehq Design Studio created a #healthy #minimalist greenhouse. #DBD20Trends ???? by Alan Berry
