Icons of yesteryear recapture the spotlight in Textiles of the 20th Century, an ongoing series by Maharam. Alexander Girard gets his close-up with Checker, originally released in 1965 during the designer’s tenure as director of the textile division at Herman Miller. Rendered in a stain-resistant blend of cotton and polyester, the reissue replicates archival color combinations, giving all eight versions the same swinging-60’s zing.
