Luminaire founders Nasir and Nargis Kassamali are hosting an auction to benefit the Sylvester Cancer Center at the University of Miami. Presented in partnership with Phillips auction house, the GlasLove sale features works in glass by leading designers, including Nendo, Piero Lissoni, Marcel Wanders, Patricia Urquiola, and Naoto Fukasawa. Many of the offerings are rare one-offs or limited-edition versions of celebrated pieces.

Highlights include more than 30 prototypes designed by Nendo founder Oki Sato for his 2015 "Nendo-Works" exhibition, staged at Milan's Museo della Permanente. These one-of-a-kind items were produced and donated by Glas Italia. Lasvit contributed the Campana Brothers' Sphere chandelier from their Candy collection, and Venini donated an hourglass by Tadao Ando. Other items include a mirrored Bell table by Sebastian Herkner for ClassiCon and Tord Boontje's Blossom chandelier for Swarovski.

The event is the fourth "Love" auction that the __design duo has organized, following PuppyLove in 2006, PaperLove in 2008, and DesignLove in 2011. The items are on display through October 11 at the Luminaire Lab in Miami's __design District, and the online auction is live through then at Phillips.com.
