EwingCole has acquired BBH __design and Interior Architecture & Design (IDeA), two research-driven firms commissioned for large-scale commercial projects. The acquisition will strengthen EwingCole's presence and expansion into the southeast region. The firm will double its locations; new outposts in Charlotte, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh will join current offices in Irvine, New York, and Philadelphia.

BBH Design and IDeA recently collaborated on a proprietary research tool, DOTT, which provides post-occupancy __design solutions based on how people operate within their built environment. “The enhanced application of DOTT across all our practices will be part of our commitment to creating the inspired spaces and buildings that fulfill our client's aspirations,” EwingCole principal and co-founder Rich Beale says. The technology will aid the growing firm as it embarks on future projects in institutional, educational, healthcare, and corporate sectors.
