1. Cape Cod Guesthouse by Hariri & Hariri

A window wall of aluminum-framed glass fronts the master bedroom in this Bauhaus-style Cape Cod Guesthouse by Interior __design Hall of Fame members Gisue and Mojgan Hariri.

2. High Line Apartment by Workshop/APD

To add character, cohesion, and visual texture to this High Line apartment, Workshop/APD designed the master bedroom around Kibong Rhee’s Floating Island, which hangs on an accent wall paneled in fumed, stained white oak. Both the silk area rug and Lindsey Adelman chandelier are custom.

3. Sharon Bonnemazou’s Weekend House by Cass Calder Smith and MODE Interior Designs

A freestanding structure in stained white oak creates a niche for the bed—anchored by a simple four-poster—in the master suite of this Hamptons estate by CCS Architecture and MODE Interior Designs. Also in white oak, a custom barn door slides on a blackened-steel track, opening up to the master bathroom.

4. New York City Apartment by 2Michaels

The client requested a dark master bedroom in her new Upper West Side apartment, so twin designers Jayne and Joan Michaels of 2Michaels tested a number of Farrow & Ball colors before deciding on Hague Blue. A Patrick Weder paper pendant hangs over a crocheted London Kaye doily, a custom walnut bed with a sheepskin headboard, and vintage 1950s reading lights. A Tyler Hays walnut dresser and vintage Igor Rodrigues chaise lend extra verve.

5. A-Frame House by Patrick Tighe Architecture

Neutral tones blend together to create a phenomenal sensory experience in the master bedroom of this mid-century A-frame house by Patrick Tighe Architecture. Silvery tones of the rift-oak headboard, which soars upward as an angled canopy, were inspired by the bark of the immense eucalyptus tree seen through the windows. Serge Mouille designed both the pendant fixture and the lamps, and gray linen-wool upholsters Arne Jacobsen’s Egg chair and ottoman through Fritz Hansen.

6. Los Feliz House by Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design and Chet Callahan

Heretofore pristine white, the master bedroom in this Los Feliz house by Ghislaine Viñas Interior Design and Chet Callahan received an unexpected splash of color. Starting by the foot of the bed, the designers painted a wide band of hot pink from wall to ceiling. Rodolfo Dordoni’s bed lies between nightstands by Studio Kairos, underneath an acrylic on panel by Dean Monogenis. Piet Boon’s chandelier adds an extra colorful touch overhead.

7. Upper West Side Apartment by Messana O’Rorke

This apartment’s living room doubles as guest accommodations via a Murphy bed that drops down from a black walnut–paneled utility core. Messana O’Rorke outfitted the space with a bamboo silk rug from India—a tranquil complement to European white oak flooring—and a pair of sheepskin perches by Hanns-Peter Kraft, handcrafted of beech with leather ears.
